National American University CARES Act Student Emergency Financial Aid Grant Report

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act provides funds to National American University for emergency financial aid grants to students for cost of attendance expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus (such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care and child care).

National American University was allocated $1,453,446.00 under the CARES Act.? On April 28, 2020, National American University signed and returned to the Department of 365体育官网 the Certification and Agreement for Higher 365体育官网 Emergency Relief Funding and intends to use no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

National American University was allocated $726,723.00 for emergency financial aid for eligible post-secondary students.?? The grants are intended to help students cover costs they have experienced as a result of the changes due to the pandemic.? This funding will be allocated to eligible students through the review process outlined below.

An additional allocation of $726,723.00 is available to National American University to help address the significant financial costs as a result of the COVID-19 emergency.

Student Emergency Financial Aid Grants

It is estimated that 1885 students were enrolled in post-secondary education with National American University on March 13, 2020.? Of these students, 54 students were identified as potentially eligible students.? 45 students completed a FAFSA and demonstrated Title IV eligibility under Section 484 of the Higher 365体育官网 Act of 1965.

Any student who met the requirements of Section 484 of the Higher 365体育官网 Act received an email application to request assistance through the Student Emergency Financial Aid Grant ( CARES ACT Higher 365体育官网 Emergency Relief Funds Student Application.docx? ).? National American University awarded each eligible applicant student $6195.00.

Total amount of CARES Emergency Financial Aid Grants disbursed as of June 19, 2020:

$6195.00 34 students $210,630.

The funds were disbursed by electronic funds through Bank Mobile or by check if requested.? Each student was notified of the award, pending disbursement and information on the funds (Congratulations CARES.docx).

August 3,2020 No additional disbursements or updates to the CARES Act Funding

October 1, 2020 No additional disbursements or updates to the CARES Act Funding through the quarter ending September 30, 2020
January 7, 2021 No additional disbursements or updates to the CARES Act Funding through the quarter ending December 31, 2020

April 8, 2021 Additional funds were awarded to the CARES Act Funding through the quarter ending 3-31-2021

A similar process was followed in awarding the grant funds based on the revised guidelines published January 14, 2021 allowing online students to be considered eligible for the CARES Act Funding.? 576 students were enrolled on 1-14-2021, completed the 2021FAFSA and demonstrated Title IV eligibility under Section 484 of the Higher 365体育官网 Act of 1965.? Each of the 576 student was Pell grant eligible and had an EFC less than 5400.

Any student who met the requirements of Section 484 of the Higher 365体育官网 Act received an email application to request assistance through the Student Emergency Financial Aid Grant ( CARES ACT Higher 365体育官网 Emergency Relief Funds Student Application.docx? ).? National American University awarded each eligible applicant student (301) between $1500 and $2500 based on ECF.

June 9, 2021 NAU was granted HEERF II funding of $390,269 in February of 2021 plus HEERF III funding of $207,146 in June of 2021, all to be awarded in student grants. No additional disbursements to students of the CARES Act or CRRSAA Funding (HEERF I, II, III) were made during the quarter ending June 30, 2021.

August 20, 2021, NAU awarded additional student grant funds following the general processes outlined previously.? Students who were enrolled on March 13, 2020 who had not previously received CARES Emergency Financial Aid Grants through NAU who established need through the FAFSA with an EFC of 0? or who submitted other information establishing need, received an email application to request assistance through the Student Emergency Financial Aid Grant (see above).? National American University awarded each eligible applicant student (320) between $500 and $2000 based on established need and level of education.

November 8, 2021, NAU awarded the final group of HEERF student grant funds following the general processes outlined previously.? Students who were enrolled on March 13, 2020 or after who had not previously received CARES Emergency Financial Aid Grants through NAU who established need through the FAFSA with an EFC of 0?received an email application to request assistance through the Student Emergency Financial Aid Grant (see above).? National American University awarded each eligible applicant student (148) between $875.50 and $1725 based on established need and level of education.
